⚠️ Important:
This is an early feature. FreeAgent integration is currently read-only. Publishing extractions directly to FreeAgent will be available soon.
In the meantime, you can continue using the FreeAgent (CSV) template to export your extractions and import them into FreeAgent.
FreeAgent is currently waitlisted. Contact support team or send an email to [email protected] to get it enabled for your organization.
Step 1: Open Entity Settings.
Step 2: Go to Integrations and click Add New Integration.
Step 3: Select FreeAgent (Early Access).
Step 4: Sign in to your FreeAgent account.
Enter your username and password.
Complete Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or use your Recovery Code if prompted.
Click Approve to authorize the connection.
Step 5: After the connection is successful, you'll be redirected back to Tofu.
Select the FreeAgent organization (client business) you want to connect.
Then click Activate
You're all set! 🎉You can now upload documents to Tofu, validate the extracted data, export it, and import it into FreeAgent.
Export from Tofu and Import into FreeAgent
Note: This workflow currently supports Bank Statement extractions only.
In Tofu
Step 1: Click Upload and select Bank Statement.
Step 2: Once the extraction is complete, carefully validate the following before exporting:

Contact
NOTE: Accurate validation helps ensure a smooth import into FreeAgent.
Step 3: Click More Options (...) → Export.
Step 4: Select the FreeAgent export template then Click Export Extractions.
In Free Agent
Step: Sign in to your FreeAgent account then Go to Banking → Bank Accounts.
Step 2: Select the bank account where you want to import the statement.
Step 3: Click Upload Statement.
Step 4: Click Select a File, choose the CSV exported from Tofu, and upload it.
That's it! 🎉Your transactions will appear as Pending in FreeAgent. Review each transaction and Explain or Accept it to post it to your accounts.
