⚠️ Important:
AP Bills, AR Invoices, and Direct Expenses can now be published directly to Bukku. Bank Statements still use the CSV export and import workflow below.
This integration requires a Bukku Business/Prime plan or higher. If your Bukku plan doesn't support the integration (for example, the Base Partner Plan), tofu will show an in-app note explaining that certain integration features aren't available on your current plan.
The organization owner should enable first Bukku integration in Organization Settings → Features.
Before you begin
To connect Bukku to tofu, you will need two things from your Bukku account:
Access Token
Company Subdomain
Here's how to find them:
Log in to your Bukku account.
Go to Control Panel → Integrations.
Turn on the API Access switch, then click Save.
Copy your Access Token.
Note your Company Subdomain. It is the part of your Bukku web address that comes before ".bukku.my." For example, if your address is example.bukku.my, your subdomain is "example"
How to connect Bukku
Once you have your Access Token and Company Subdomain ready, you can connect Bukku to tofu by following these steps:
Go to Entity Settings.
Select Integrations.
Click Add New Integration.
Select Bukku.
Enter your Access Token and Company Subdomain.
Click Connect then Activate.
Your Bukku integration is now connected to the entity.
💡 Tip: Before activating, you can turn on Self-Prompt for your AP Bills, AR Invoices, and Direct Expenses in the configuration panel. This lets tofie learn from your historical transactions in Bukku and apply your coding patterns automatically during review. If you do not have historical data in Bukku yet, you can upload a CSV or Excel file instead in Entity Settings → Knowledge Base.
How to check if accounting data is synced
After connecting, you can verify that your Bukku data is available in tofu.
Go to Entity Settings.
Select Accounting.
Review the available accounting data, such as accounts, items, contacts, currencies, tax rates, or tags.
💡 Tip: If you add new data in Bukku, click the Sync
button in tofu to refresh and update the data.
How to publish AP Bills, AR Invoices, and Direct Expenses to Bukku
Publishing to Bukku is manual.
To publish a single extraction, open it and click Publish.
To publish several at once, go to the Extractions panel, select the extractions you want, and use Bulk Publish.
After publishing, a link to the Bukku record will appear in tofu.
Check whether an extraction is fully synced using the Publish Status in tofu:
Published: All changes synced to Bukku.
Edited After Publish: Changes made in tofu haven't been sent yet.
Publish Error: The extraction failed to sync.
If you see a Publish Error, open the extraction to find what needs fixing (for example a missing contact, invalid account, or tax issue), correct it in tofu, and click Save Draft. Once done, click publish.
Bank Statements are not yet supported for direct publish. Continue using the export and import workflow below for Bank Statements.
How to export and import bank statements
For Bank Statements, use the export and import workflow:
Open the extraction in tofu.
Review and verify all extraction details are correct.
Once satisfied, export the extraction using the Bukku (Excel) template.
Download the Excel file.
Go to Bukku and import the Excel file.
This lets you continue moving extraction data from tofu into Bukku while direct publishing is still being developed.
💡 Tips:
For a single extraction, you can export directly from the review page by clicking the three-dot menu and selecting Export. If you need to export multiple extractions at once, go to the Extractions panel, select the extractions you want, and use Bulk Export.
Once imported, your Bukku records will reflect the extraction data from tofu.To skip choosing a template on every export, set CSV Export Target to Bukku in Entity Settings → Features. Exports will then use the Bukku (Excel) template automatically.
If you switch between multiple export templates, keep CSV Export Target set to None so you can choose at export time.
