  1. Go to Entity Settings.

  2. Select Integrations.

  7. Click Activate.

Your Zoho Books integration is now connected to the entity.

How to check if accounting data is synced

After connecting Zoho Books, you can check whether your accounting data is available in tofu.

  1. Go to Entity Settings.

  2. Select Accounting.

  3. Review the available accounting data, such as accounts, taxes, items, contacts, currencies, or tags.

Most accounting data (accounts, tax rates, currencies, tags) is read-only and synced from Zoho Books into tofu. Contacts are the exception: if a document has a contact that isn't in Zoho Books yet, tofu creates it for you, so you don't have to add it manually first. See How to Handle New Contacts During Extraction Review for how this works during review.

Tip: If you create new accounting data in Zoho Books, click the Syncbutton in tofu to refresh and update the data.

AI Auto-Assignment for Zoho Tags

tofie can now automatically assign Zoho Books tags during extraction. Because tofu reads your Zoho tag configuration including tag scope and level. The AI correctly determines where each tag applies and assigns it accordingly.

This means less manual tagging during review, and more accurate categorization from the first extraction.

Tip: To improve tag auto-assignment over time, use the tofie icon during review to confirm or correct tag selections. tofie learns from your corrections at the entity level.

How to publish extractions to Zoho Books

Publishing to Zoho Books is manual.

  • To publish a single extraction, open it and click Publish.

  • To publish several at once, go to the Extractions panel, select the extractions you want, and use Bulk Publish.

After publishing, a link to the Zoho Books record will appear in tofu.

Check whether an extraction is fully synced using the Publish Status in tofu:

  • Published: All changes synced to Zoho Books.

  • Edited After Publish: Changes made in tofu haven't been sent yet.

  • Publish Error: The extraction failed to sync.

If you see a Publish Error, open the extraction to find what needs fixing (for example a missing contact, invalid account, or tax issue), correct it in tofu, and click Save Draft. Once done, click publish.
