⚠️ Important:
This is an early feature. Zoho Books integration is currently read-only. Publishing and importing extraction settings will be available soon.
In the meantime, you can continue using the Zoho Books (CSV) template to export your extractions and import them into Zoho Books.
How to connect Zoho Books
Follow these steps to connect your Zoho Books account to Tofu.
Go to Entity Settings.
Select Integrations.
Click Add New Integration.
Select Zoho Books then Connect.
Check I Accept to allow access to Zoho Books.
Select the correct Zoho Books Organization.
Click Activate.
Your Zoho Books integration is now connected to the entity.
How to check if accounting data is synced
After connecting Zoho Books, you can check whether your accounting data is available in Tofu.
Go to Entity Settings.
Select Accounting.
Review the available accounting data, such as accounts, taxes, items, contacts, currencies, or tags.
Most accounting data (accounts, tax rates, currencies, tags) is read-only and synced from Zoho Books into Tofu. Contacts are the exception: if a document has a contact that isn't in Zoho Books yet, Tofu creates it for you, so you don't have to add it manually first. See How to Handle New Contacts During Extraction Review for how this works during review.
Tip: If you create new accounting data in Zoho Books, click the Sync 
button in Tofu to refresh and update the data.
AI Auto-Assignment for Zoho Tags
Tofie can now automatically assign Zoho Books tags during extraction. Because Tofu reads your Zoho tag configuration including tag scope and level. The AI correctly determines where each tag applies and assigns it accordingly.
This means less manual tagging during review, and more accurate categorization from the first extraction.
Tip: To improve tag auto-assignment over time, use the Tofie icon during review to confirm or correct tag selections. Tofie learns from your corrections at the entity level.
How to Run Self-Prompt
Once your Zoho Books integration is connected, you can run Self-Prompt to help Tofie learn from your historical transaction data and apply your rules automatically during extraction review.
Go to Entity Settings → Knowledge Base.
Select the extraction type you want to train: AP Bills, AR Invoices, or Direct Expenses.
Click Self-Prompt.
Choose your data source:
Generate with Integration Only — Tofie learns directly from your historical Zoho Books data.
Upload CSV/Excel — Use your own transaction file instead of integration data.
Select your preferred Output language.
Click Generate with Integration Only or Upload and generate to start.
Once complete, review the Knowledge Base entries and adjust any rules if needed.
How to export and import extractions
Zoho Books integration is currently read-only, so extractions are not published directly to Zoho Books yet.
For now, use the export → import workflow:
Review the extraction in Tofu.
Make sure the extraction details are correct.
Export the extraction using the Zoho Books (CSV) template.
Download the CSV file.
Go to Zoho Books.
Import the CSV file into Zoho Books.
Review the imported transaction in Zoho Books.
This lets you continue moving extraction data from Tofu into Zoho Books while direct publishing is still being developed.
💡 Tip: To skip choosing a template on every export, set CSV Export Target to Zoho Books in Entity Settings → Features. Exports will then use the Zoho Books (CSV) template automatically. If you switch between multiple export templates, keep CSV Export Target set to None so you can choose at export time.
Tips and best practices
Make sure you select the correct Zoho Books Organization before clicking Activate.
When adding new data in Zoho Books, use Sync in Tofu to refresh the data.
Since this is currently read-only, continue using the Zoho Books (CSV) template when you need to move invoices into Zoho Books.
