What this feature does
This feature lets you copy accounting data from another entity in your organization.
You can import the following:
Tax rates
Accounts
Contacts
Items
Tags
You can also use different source entities for different data types. For example:
Accounts from Entity A
Tax Rates from Entity B
Contacts from Entity C
Each type is imported separately.
What is not included
The following will not be copied:
Accounting software connections
Integration settings or credentials
Documents or extractions
Entity knowledge
Any other entity-level settings
Before you start
You can only import from non-integrated entities.
Entities with active accounting integrations will appear greyed out and cannot be selected.
You must have access to the source entity.
You can choose different source entities for different data types during setup
How to import accounting settings
You import data one type at a time (for example, only Accounts or only Tax Rates). You cannot import everything in one go.
When you import a type, all records under that type will be copied from the source entity.
To import accounting data:
Open the entity you want to update.
Go to Entity Settings.
Click Accounting.
Choose what you want to import:
Tax Rates
Accounts
Contacts
Items
Tags
Click Import from entity.
Select the source entity (only non-integrated entities are selectable).
Review the confirmation message carefully.
Click Import.
What happens after import
All records for the selected accounting data are copied into the target entity.
Example: Importing Accounts will copy all accounts from the source entity.
The source entity remains unchanged.
If your entity already has accounting data
If your entity already has data for the same type, you will see this message:
“Replace existing data? This entity already has accounts. Import will replace existing data.”
If you continue, the existing data will be replaced with the imported data for that type.
⚠️ Important reminders
This feature is best used when setting up a new entity or standardizing data across entities
You cannot select specific records. Importing a type brings in everything under it
You can only import from non-integrated entities
