1. Access Integrations

  • Open Tofu and locate the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.

  • Click on the gear icon.

  • Select 'Integrations'.

2. Add New Integration

  • Click on 'Add New Integration'.

  • From the dropdown menu, select 'Dropbox'.

  • Click on 'Connect' to proceed.

3. Sign in to Dropbox

  • You will be redirected to the Dropbox login page.

  • Enter your Dropbox account credentials and sign in.

4. Select Dropbox Folder

  • After logging in, you will return to the integrations page in Tofu.

  • A configuration window will appear.

  • Choose the Dropbox folder you want to integrate.

  • Important: Ensure that the selected folder is inside the 'apps' folder in Dropbox.

5. Configure Directory Filters

Directory filters let you control which subfolders Tofu should monitor and what type of documents each folder contains.

This helps prevent extraction errors and keeps your files organized.

To add a directory filter:

  1. Click Add Directory Filter.

  2. Select the specific subfolder inside your chosen Dropbox root folder.

  3. Choose the Document Extraction Type for files in that folder:

    • AP Bills

    • AR Invoices

    • Bank Statements

Examples

Dropbox Folder

Extraction Type

What Happens

/apps/Tofu/AP Bills

AP Bills

All files are extracted as AP bills

/apps/Tofu/Invoices

AR Invoices

Extracted as AR invoices

/apps/Tofu/Bank Statements

Bank Statements

Extracted as Bank Statements

You can add multiple directory filters as needed.

6. Activate Integration

Once your filters are set:

  • Review your folder mappings and extraction types.

  • Click Activate. Your Dropbox integration is now live.

7. Upload Documents

  • Upload your documents directly into the mapped Dropbox folders.

  • Return to Source Documents in Tofu.

  • You should see your files appear automatically based on the extraction type assigned to each folder.

Cautionary Notes

  1. The root folder must be inside the Dropbox /apps directory.

  2. If files don’t sync, double-check:

    • Folder permissions

    • Directory filter paths

    • Extraction type settings

  3. Make sure each folder is assigned the correct extraction type to avoid misclassification.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Create clear folder structures (e.g., AP Bills, AR Invoices, Bank Statements).

  • Regularly review integration settings and folder mappings.

  • Avoid mixing document types in one folder if possible.
